Maximizing Academic Growth in College

MAGIC is a summer transition program for incoming MSU freshmen organized by the Office of Cultural and Academic Transitions. It is a two week program (one week per group) introducing campus resources, network with MSU faculty/staff, life-long friends, and more. It aims to prepare MSU freshmen the knowledge to do well their first year and beyond.

I’ve been a part of the MAGIC program for 5 years. I participated my freshman year in 2012 and then became a peer assistant for 4 years. I’ve enjoyed seeing the students excel in their classes, student organizations, internships, and personal growth. Working in a team of 10 peer assistant, we lead workshops, large ice breakers activities, and secured the safety of each students making sure all needs were met to provide a safe environment for questions and answers.
