Maximizing Academic Growth in College
MAGIC is a summer transition program for incoming MSU freshmen organized by the Office of Cultural and Academic Transitions. It is a two week program (one week per group) introducing campus resources, network with MSU faculty/staff, life-long friends, and more. It aims to prepare MSU freshmen the knowledge to do well their first year and beyond.
I’ve been a part of the MAGIC program for 5 years. I participated my freshman year in 2012 and then became a peer assistant for 4 years. The reason I come back every year is because of the influence it had on me. I didn’t live on campus so if it wasn’t for this program, I would not be who I am today. Also, I enjoy seeing past MAGIC participants excel in college and take on high positions and challenges.
